Your donation will be used to help a refugee family with:

• 6 months of financial support to cover basic monthly living costs like rent, food and utilities

• Start-up costs for their new lives in Stratford such as

  • school supplies

  • clothing (especially for the winter)

  • furniture

  • staples

The federal government provides the other 6 months of financial support.

Donations are recognized with a charitable receipt from Mennonite Central Committee.

Sponsorship groups also give the refugee family 12 months of social, emotional and resettlement support for things including

• finding a place to live

• providing orientation to the new community

• finding language training centers and places of worship

• enrolling in school

• medical and dental needs
